I’m glad it lived up to all the hype I’ve heard over the years, and was surprised by how well It's a Wonderful Life gelled with me. Unsurprisingly, most Christmas movies tend to bring out my inner Grinch, mainly because they tend to feel disingenuous and overly formulaic to me. It's a Wonderful Life was a lot less “Christmas-y” than I expected, being more of a character study of a selfless man than anything, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it…
