Day 314 of the challenge! In the mood for some gnarly Nazi zombies and body horror? Overlord is for you!
Or maybe you wished Captain America: The First Avenger had more zombies? Overlord is also for you! I can’t stress enough how much fun I had watching this B-movie gem.
Overlord is an assault on the senses from the beginning, dropping us into the middle of a pulse pounding war drama before abruptly transitioning into a terrifying, Lovecraftian tinged, sci-fi/horror gore fest. The plot keeps you on your toes all throughout it, the characters are fun and quirky, and the horror isn’t too over the top, something I was a little worried about. This World War II movie about Nazi zombies is strangely grounded.
Regardless, Overlord is another horror win for 2018, and probably the funnest of the bunch…so far!
