Origin Story

Thanks for stopping by. My name is Adrian Meza. I was born and raised on Tatooine, also known to most people as El Paso, Texas.

Growing up in the beautiful Chihuahuan Desert of the American Southwest gave me a unique appreciation for wide-open landscapes and the many stories hiding in the horizons. That early cinematic perspective sparked a lifelong obsession with how imagery and sound shape the way we see the world and the narratives we choose to own and share.

That lens fuels Blue Lab Pro, my creative studio focused on turning ideas into compelling audio-visual media. I collaborate with institutions, founders, and creators to develop production pipelines that are thoughtful, strategic, and built to last.

Over the past 16 years, I’ve moved past the early days of just shooting and editing to become a full-pipeline multimedia producer. As Art Director for the Alliance of Hispanic Serving Research Universities (HSRU), I oversee national visual governance and multi-institution creative strategy. Through Blue Lab Pro, I produce projects rooted in independent, community-driven storytelling. Whether directing client campaigns, producing long-form video, or scripting my regional folklore podcast, Weird Tales from El Paso, the goal is always the same: build immersive media that connects with people.

My creativity is rooted in storytelling, pop culture, and a constant drive to push the technical limits of my craft.

Why Blue Lab Pro?

A “lab” is a space for experimentation and creation, where ideas are tested and problems are solved. I also love dogs, and labs are one of my favorite breeds, so the name just felt right. Add in the fact that blue is my favorite color, and that “pro” sounds better than “productions,” and the name chose itself.
